They call you mister?
Let’s just get this out-of-the-way real quick. It’s not because I think im overly intelligent, or am a fan of the Japanese television drama, it’s my surname. So what’s with the “Mr.” part? Well, I’m not too sure either. For as long as I can remember, parents, hockey coaches, guidance councilors, HR Directors, Office Managers, and even clients have called me Mr. Brain. I’m not sure why they have, maybe they get a kick out of saying it out loud? It came to a point that one of my freelance clients who still to this day has never called me Adam, suggested I use it as a company name, so I did. And that is where Mr. Brain comes from.
A bit more about me.
I started in advertising around 8 years ago as a freelance web developer working on digital campaigns for IKEA, Chorus Entertainment and Unilever. During this time my strategic ambitions were born. I made the move to planning and strategy, working as a digital strategist account manager hybrid for a small eMarketing shop that focused on travel and hospitality. Here I developed and executed SEO and SEM campaigns and programs for Travel Alberta, Nova Scotia Tourism, and Marriott International.
A short while later a call from a former client landed me at the digital agency Dashboard where I took on the role of Consumer Engagement Planner. At Dashboard I worked as the social and digital strategy lead on all agency accounts and projects. While at Dashboard I worked across many clients and categories most notably; Hellmann’s (2010 Cassie Grand Prix), TorStar(The Grid, Winefox), Vaseline, and ING DIRECT.
Currently I’m the lead digital strategist on Boston Pizza, Johnson and Johnson and Capitol One at TAXI.
